He established an independent group at 乐天堂app下载 Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata in 2008 and continued 乐天堂app下载re until he moved to IITH in 2023.
He had been an Honorary Visiting Scientist to 乐天堂app下载 University of Bradford (2015-18) and a recipient of 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Chemistry’s Mobility Grant, Distinguished Lectureship Award from 乐天堂app下载 Chemical Society of Japan (2017) and Swarnajayanti Fellowship from 乐天堂app下载 Department of Science and Technology, India. He is a Co-editor of Acta Crystallogr. B and served as an Associate Editor for RSC Advances in 2015-16. He served on 乐天堂app下载 Local Organizing Committee of IUCr2017@Hyderabad, India.
His research group is engaged in understanding 乐天堂app下载 mechanical properties of organic solids, including pharmaceutical and optoelectronic crystals. Some of his well-known contributions include 乐天堂app下载 discovery of flexible elastic and plastic organic crystals, designing flexible crystals using Supramolecular Shape Synthons, etc. He has published over 90 research articles.

Kwangyeol Lee is Professor of chemistry at Korea University. He graduated from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (1992) and obtained a PhD degree (1997) in Chemistry from 乐天堂app下载 University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign under 乐天堂app下载 supervision of Professor John R. Shapley. After fulfilling his Korean military obligations he joined Korea University in 2003 as an Assistant Professor.
During his independent research career, he has studied nanocrystal growth, phase conversions in nanoscale as well as nanoparticle applications. He has contributed over 180 papers to 乐天堂app下载 fields of Organometallic Chemistry and Nanochemistry. In 2020, he moved to Shandong University as 乐天堂app下载 director of State Key Laboratory of Crystal Materials. In 2021, he created Multiscale Crystal Materials Research Center at Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology. His research interests focus on multiscale crystallization of inorganic matter for energy and optical applications. He has published more than 500 papers and book chapters, and holds around 20 patents. He founded and currently heads 乐天堂app下载 KU Chemical Crystallography Laboratory, offering crystallographic services to KU researchers while forging new collaborations with premier global labs in solid-state chemistry.
