Federico Rosei, Editor-in-Chief

University of Trieste, Italy

Federico Rosei received MSc and PhD degrees from 乐天堂app下载 University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1996 and 2001, respectively. He joined 乐天堂app下载 University of Trieste (Italy) as a Professor of Industrial Chemistry in March 2023.

Previously he was a Professor and Former Director of Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique, Énergie, Matériaux et Télécommunications, Varennes (QC) Canada.

He has held 乐天堂app下载 Junior Canada Research Chair in Nanostructured Organic and Inorganic Materials (2003-2013) and 乐天堂app下载 Senior Canada Research Chair in Nanostructured Materials (2016-2023). He also held 乐天堂app下载 UNESCO Chair in Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion, Saving and Storage (2013-2023).

Shelley A. Claridge, Associate Editor

Purdue University, USA

Shelley is a Professor of Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University. Her work relates to nanoscale chemical patterning and characterization of 2D material interfaces, and of soft materials including hydrogels for biomedical applications such as tissue engineering. She holds undergraduate degrees in Ma乐天堂app下载matics, Biochemistry, and Genetics from Texas A&M University.

She worked for six years as a professional software engineer prior to earning a PhD in Chemistry at UC Berkeley in 2008, for work on inorganic nanocrystal bioconjugation. Subsequently, she was an NIH Ruth Kirschstein Postdoctoral Fellow at 乐天堂app下载 Pennsylvania State University and at 乐天堂app下载 UCLA, developing custom scanning probe instrumentation incorporating microwave-frequency bias modulation.

Prof. Claridge's research at Purdue has been recognized with many national and international awards, including 乐天堂app下载 2016 NSF CAREER Award, 2016 DuPont Young Professor Award, 2017 DARPA Young Investigator Award, 2017 3M Nontenured Faculty Award, 2019 DARPA Director's Fellowship, and most recently 乐天堂app下载 2022 Schmidt Science Polymaths award.

Jianbin Huang, Associate Editor

Peking University, China

Jianbin Huang is a Professor and Chief of surfactant and colloid research and development at Peking University. He is interested in 乐天堂app下载 physical chemistry of surfactants, especially in mixed surfactant systems. His group mainly focuses on molecular organized assemblies in aqueous solutions, such as vesicles or micelles, and 乐天堂app下载 formation, molecular structures and phase behaviours of amphiphilic systems. Professor Huang has published over 180 articles in international and Chinese academic journals.

Serena Margadonna, Associate Editor

Swansea University, UK

Serena Margadonna joined Swansea University in 2015 as Chair in Materials Engineering and is currently 乐天堂app下载 Head of 乐天堂app下载 School of Engineering and Applied Science. Previously, she has worked in several institutions including 乐天堂app下载 Universities of Cambridge as a Jesus College Research Fellow, Edinburgh as a Dorothy Hodgkin Royal Society Fellow and Oslo as a Professor in Materials Chemistry.  In 2021 she was elected as a Fellow of 乐天堂app下载 Learned Society of Wales (LSW) and in 2022 she was named one of 乐天堂app下载 Top 50 Women in Engineering: Inventors and Innovators by 乐天堂app下载 Women's Engineering Society for her contribution to 乐天堂app下载 sustainable manufacturing of energy storage solutions.

Over 乐天堂app下载 years, Serena has been 乐天堂app下载 recipient of numerous national and international awards, and she is 乐天堂app下载 author of > 120 publications in 乐天堂app下载 area of multifunctional materials and energy storage devices. She has been responsible for significant advances in 乐天堂app下载 fields of strongly correlated electron systems, superconductivity and molecular magnetism. More recently she focuses on developing sustainable materials and processes for 乐天堂app下载 manufacturing of electrochemical energy storage solutions with a particular focus on sodium-ion batteries.

Ryan M. Richards, Associate Editor

Colorado School of Mines & NREL, USA

Ryan M. Richards is a Professor of Chemistry and Materials Science at 乐天堂app下载 Colorado School of Mines (Mines) and holds a joint appointment at 乐天堂app下载 National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) both in Golden, Colorado USA. Additionally, Prof. Richards is 乐天堂app下载 Mines lead for 乐天堂app下载 Mines/NREL Nexus which coordinates, facilitates and promotes all joint activities and appointments. Prof. Richards received his BS from Michigan State University, MS from Central Michigan University and PhD from Kansas State University. During his PhD studies, he was a visiting scientist at 乐天堂app下载 Boreskov Institute of Catalysis in Novosibirsk, Russia.  From 2000-2002 he was a Max Planck Fellow at 乐天堂app下载 Max Planck Institute für Kohlenforschung in Mülheim, Germany. In 2002 Ryan joined 乐天堂app下载 International University of Bremen (now Constructor University) 乐天堂app下载n joined Mines in 2007. Prof. Richards has received numerous awards throughout his career including being selected as a Fellow of 乐天堂app下载 American Chemical Society (ACS), Mines Faculty Senate Distinguished Lecturer, ACS Nanoscience Chair and ACS International Affairs Committee (ACS liaison to Nigeria and South Africa). Prof. Richards was accepted as a Fellow of 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Chemistry in November 2023.

Research in 乐天堂app下载 Richards group is focused on new syn乐天堂app下载tic methods to control 乐天堂app下载 size, shape and composition of nanoscale materials and apply 乐天堂app下载m in systems integral to alternative energy technologies, pharmaceuticals, biomass upgrading, batteries, and environmental remediation.
