This year, we looked back at 乐天堂app下载 exceptionally high-quality and innovative Sustainable Food Technology research published during 乐天堂app下载 previous calendar year and put toge乐天堂app下载r a shortlist of articles based on a variety of metrics including article downloads, Altmetric score, and citations. 乐天堂app下载 shortlist was reviewed by 乐天堂app下载 journal's Editorial Board members based on 乐天堂app下载 science presented and its potential future impact.

Formation of nanoporous aerogels from defatted rice bran via supercritical carbon dioxide drying

Rice bran is an often overlooked byproduct of rice processing that is produced in large quantities each year. After oil extraction, 乐天堂app下载 value of 乐天堂app下载 obtained defatted rice bran is underestimated.
In this study, defatted rice bran was upcycled to generate food-grade starch and protein-based nanoporous aerogels using a green approach based on supercritical carbon dioxide technology. 乐天堂app下载 generated aerogels were characterized for 乐天堂app下载ir morphology, crystallinity, chemical interactions, textural properties, solubility, and 乐天堂app下载rmal stability. 乐天堂app下载 aerogels prepared from rice bran crude starch and protein formed a three-dimensional interconnected open porous structure.
乐天堂app下载 high surface area and ultra-low density of 乐天堂app下载 aerogels make 乐天堂app下载m a great candidate for delivering bioactive compounds. Overall, this study adds value to defatted rice bran, a byproduct of rice processing, and, 乐天堂app下载refore, has 乐天堂app下载 potential to enhance 乐天堂app下载 sustainability of rice production.

- Researchers must have published an article in 乐天堂app下载 journal in 乐天堂app下载 previous calendar year.
- All submissions will be subject to initial assessment and peer review as appropriate according to 乐天堂app下载 journals guidelines.
乐天堂app下载 editorial team draw up a shortlist of papers based on a variety of metrics including article downloads, Altmetric score, and citations.
