Professor Michael Walker FRSC

Michael Walker is an honorary professor at ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ Institute for Global Food Security at Queen’s University Belfast. He has a PhD in analytical chemistry. Michael has a lifelong interest in applied analytical chemistry and runs a chemico-legal consultancy. He is a member of several expert scientific committees and has published over 100 papers. Michael’s research interests include applying forensic principles to food safety and auÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØnticity, especially in allergen analysis.

 Dr Lucia Burgio FRSC

Lucia Burgio is ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ Lead Conservation Scientist at ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ Victoria and Albert Museum in London. With a PhD in Chemistry from University College London and more than 20 years of experience in heritage science, Lucia is well-equipped to be on ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ editorial board for this insightful new series. She is especially interested in pigments, artists’ materials, and Asian and American lacquer.

Dr Steven Lancaster FRSC

Domino, UK

Steven Lancaster leads ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ Analytical Sciences team at Domino Printing Sciences. He has a PhD in analytical chemistry and specialises in chromatography, mass spectrometry and process analytical chemistry. With over 30 years of experience in his industry, Steven is passionate about educating ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ next generation of analytical scientists. He is one of ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ Royal Society of Chemistry’s 175 Faces of Chemistry.

Dr Diane C Turner FRSC

Anthias Consulting, UK

Dr Diane Turner FRSC is ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ Founder and Director of Anthias Consulting. A Warwick University Graduate, with Masters in Analytical Chemistry, she began working in environmental and ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØn agrochemical science. Diane has provided training and consultancy internationally for over 20 years and is a Visiting Fellow and Consultant at ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ Open University continuing her PhD disease diagnosis research with food, drug and space applications. Diane is past president of ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ Royal Society of Chemistry Analytical Sciences Community and past chair of ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ Analytical Chemistry Trust Fund. Also, a Trustee of ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ Recycling Organisation for Research Opportunities (RORO) and on ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ Government Chemist Programme Expert Group (GC-PEG).

Anthony Gachanja, a seasoned Analytical Scientist, brings three decades of experience to his roles as a Lecturer and Researcher. His expertise extends to collaborating with government bodies on environmental legislation and oÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØr consultative services. Anthony is one of our 175 Faces of Chemistry and is one of ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ Top 100 most influential people in analytical science over ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ past 10 years.

Professor Mathias Schäfer FRSC

University of Cologne, Germany

Mathias Schäfer, a distinguished chemist, earned his PhD and ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ prestigious Kurt Alder Award in Chemistry during his studies at ÀÖÌìÌÃappÏÂÔØ University of Cologne in 1998. His research revolves around uncovering reaction and fragmentation mechanisms and examining gas-phase ions through ion chemistry and spectroscopy. He is committed to advancing scientific knowledge and excited to work on this series providing focused resources to help analytical scientists.
